Imo state suffers curfew from dusk to dawn

The executive governor of Imo state senator Hope Uzodinma has declared on Friday a curfew in the entire state to take effect on Saturday till further notice.

The governor of Imo state senator Hope Uzodinma has signed the 001 Executive order. It is now known that Imo state will be in total lockdown from 6am to 6pm.

Dusk to dawn order in Imo state

The dusk to dawn order will continue to exist till further notice.

The governor maintained that the essence of this is to ensure the safety of Imolites and also that the COVID-19 does not penetrate the state.

People are advised to adhere to the dusk to dawn order as members of the security operatives have being mandated to punish offenders.

According to him, people who fail to adhere to this order should be ready to carry out community services.

All boarders leading out and into the state have being shutdown down making it more difficult for motorists or cyclists to penetrate.

Tricycle and motorcyclist who default this order shall pay naira 7000 and also serve community service punishment. The same is also applicable to motorists and lorry drivers who will pay 10,000 and 50,000 naira respectively.

Citizens are advised to stay at home and adhere to the dusk to dawn order.
