COVID-19: Imo state government lifts ban against Easter

The governor of Imo state has declared Good Friday as a day people should be allowed to shop for Easter.

Hope Uzodinma lifts ban for Easter over COVID-19

The Imo state governor senator hope Uzodinma today declared good Friday a market open day.

The governor has given the order that markets should operate on this very day so that people can shop for Easter.

Since the inception of COVID-19 in Nigeria, the governor did not want to take chances of any COVID-19 case in the state. As a result, the state was lockdown. Restricting movements, gatherings of any kind and so on.

People of Imo state are allowed to shop only on good Friday from 6am to 6pm. And as from Holy Saturday, the state returns to it former situation.

He (Hope Uzodinma) has reminded the Imolites that the state security operatives has been mandated to carry out their full responsibility on any defaulter.

Churches and other social gatherings can go ahead and carry out their activities online.

Until further notice, the state Imo after good Friday is still on lockdown.
